With the Fall Split in full swing, our SMITE Console League teams are beginning to turn their attention toward the penultimate event of the season — the SMITE Console Wars at HRX. This world championship event is happening at DreamHack Atlanta, and only the best of the best console teams in each region will attend to compete for over $1 million in prizing across PC and console.
Below, you’ll find all the details you need to know about the 2018 SMITE Console Wars championship — including format, participating teams, and day-by-day schedules. We’ll also go over information regarding the placement rounds for this event, which will happen two weeks before HRX at DreamHack.
SMITE Console Wars Placement Round
Date: November 3
Before our top console teams head to DreamHack Atlanta for the Console Wars, they’ll have to fight through our placement round to earn one of the four available seats in the championship bracket.
Format & Teams
There will be a total of 4 teams participating in the Placement Round. While the top EU Xbox team and the top NA Xbox team will automatically get a bye into the main Console Wars bracket, our other contending Xbox and PS4 teams in both regions will have to fight their way through a grueling bracket to earn their spots.
Participating teams for the Placement Round are as follows, and are listed in order of their seeding for the bracket:
1. PS4 EU (#1 seed)
2. PS4 NA (#1 seed)
3. Xbox NA (#2 seed)
4. Xbox EU (#2 seed)
These 4 teams will make their way through the Placement Round using the following format:
- Best-of-three matches
- 2 matches
- The two teams who win the two matches in this bracket will move on to compete against the top-seeded Xbox teams in the main Console Wars bracket.
The SMITE Console Wars Placement Round will only run for one day on Saturday, November 3. Games played on this day will be broadcast on all our official channels — including Mixer, Twitch, and YouTube. But you can head to our new live.skillshot.com streaming site to watch the tournament feeds from any of those listed platforms!
