Hello SMITE fans!
We are thrilled to announce that we’ve set a new season kickoff date for the SMITE Pro League. Starting April 4, we’ll kick off Phase 1 of SPL Season 7!
Due to the ongoing health concerns around COVID-19, we will host our SPL matches online for at least the first five weeks of the phase. Our hope is that after those first few weeks, we’ll be able to move our pro league back to LAN; but we will need to evaluate the outbreak’s development and heed the advice of both the CDC and our local government before making a final decision about whether or not we can safely resume LAN operations.
This is going to be a big transition for our players, fans, and staff. But we’re taking every step we can to ensure that the broadcast quality for these online matches remains on par with what our fans expect for pro league games, and that the competitive integrity of these matches remains intact for our players.
After the season kicks off on April 4, the SPL will be broadcast according to our originally planned schedule of Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 3:00 PM ET.
We’d like to thank our players, partner organizations, and fans for their understanding as we make this transition. Stay tuned to @SmitePro for more news and updates as we prepare to kick off Season 7. We look forward to bringing you another action-packed year of the SMITE Pro League!
